2011 was the year of the Cardinal. The St. Louis Cardinals, that is. The 107th World Series was battle of the titans: the Texas Rangers had only made it to the World Series once before, and they almost clinched it in game 6, but the Cardinals were able to come back twice from a 2-run deficit against the Rangers, finally overtaking them in the 11th inning with a final score of 10-9.
In game 7, the Cardinals were able to overtake the Rangers, 6-2. This marked the 11th time the Cardinals took the World Series.
