If you are using your Jeep for anything more than a daily driver (you do have a Jeep, right?) then you should take a hard look at these new big brake kits from Brembo. They are a massive upgrade over your stock Jeep brake pads and rotors. In the front, you'll find a huge set of 2-piece rotors that are 380mm in diameter and 34mm thick. That's an additional 100mm of diameter over your stock rotors! Brembo mates the front rotors to a set of their 6-piston brake calipers, ensuring a fade-less brake feel. The rears feature an equally large 380mm x 28mm 2-piece rotor mated to 4-piston brake calipers.
Brembo gives you the option of either drilled or slotted rotors. If you're really putting these brakes to the test, I'd recommend the slotted rotors, they should do a better job under extreme conditions. You can also choose between the GT and the GT-R brake calipers. The GT calipers are a monobloc design, engineered for an optimum strength-to-weight ratio. The Brembo GT-R brake calipers are a nickel plated, billet aluminum monobloc brake caliper that is 10% lighter than the Brembo GT brake calipers. Featuring stainless steel vented piston inserts, these calipers virtually eliminate brake fade and offer a better pedal feel. That does come at a cost: the Brembo GT-R brake calipers cost twice as much at the GT's.
If you want to get this Brembo big brake kit for your Wrangler, you'll have to wait until January 2012 when Brembo releases these parts to the masses. That said, here are the part numbers you'll need for the JK: Brembo 1N1.9024A (drilled) or Brembo IN2.9024A (slotted) for the fronts, and Brembo 2P1.9034A (drilled) or Brembo 2P2.9034A (slotted) for the rears.
