Description

If your vehicle’s been upgraded with disc brakes and a gnarly high-performance motor, it may have a hard time generating enough vacuum to operate the power brake booster. And, less vacuum to the booster can result in poor braking which makes for a wild ride and a potentially dangerous situation.

To operate properly, a power brake booster needs at least 16 inches of vacuum at engine idle. If the vacuum drops below 16 inches, the booster looses power and seriously affects braking performance. With the SSBC Electric Vacuum Pump Kit, your power booster always has enough vacuum to deliver maximum braking power.

The pump mounts inline between your vehicle’s intake manifold and power brake booster. It works on 12 volt power and the kit includes everything you need—pump, switching relay, vacuum line and mounting insulators. Best of all, your SSBC Electric Vacuum Pump Kit is backed by a 1-year warranty.

"nice product don't know why I received a second switch though looks used and does not seem to work would be nice if the effort in creating a switch plug was put into actually providing a seal Seems allot of effort for little return"

1964 Galaxie with SSBC brakes and Ford 460 engine(low vacuum)

"I can stop without using both feet on the pedal ! One BIG problem with the kit ! Actually, the problem is small, but the effect is BIG. There are two holes on the rubber isolator on the connector at the pressure switch. One is plugged with a round rubberplug and the other is open for the connector. After all connections were done, nothing worked! All kinds of testing (and swearing) showed that the pump worked when directly connected. The problem was the round rubberplug put in the wrong opening in the rubberinsulator/connector by someone either having fun or being under pressure at work. I switced connector and plug-position and now the car stops when I want it to ! Yeehaaa!"
