Description

Street or track, an embarrassing brake squeal takes the fun out of spirited driving. So kill the squeal with a set of EBC’s ultra-quiet Ultimax Slotted Rotors. EBC rotors give you top-notch braking performance without the drum-shattering squeal heard with traditional performance discs.

Precision progressive slotting gives the gasses, debris and moisture that cause brake fade an easy escape. Basically, the machined angle at which these slots are cut creates a high-performance rotor that runs ultra-quiet. So, when heads are turning, they’re checking your ride—not reeling from your brake squeal.

Made in England from high-quality British iron, EBC Rotors deliver steady braking and smooth pad wear. And, since they’re slotted rather than drilled, Ultimax Rotors resist dangerous cracking. Best yet, your EBC Ultimax BlackDash Slotted Rotors are backed by a 6-month/5,000 mile warranty.

First Time with EBC Rotors

Posted on 12/25/2008 by Craig T. - 2007 Pontiac Solstice (Haymarket,VA)

"This was my first experience with EBC Rotors. The ones I bought were for a Pontiac Solstice. I haven't driven much with them yet, but they are installed. They appear to be a high quality rotor, the castings appear to be virtually identical to the stock blanks. They are straight and true, and properly fit. The extra machining for the slots looks fine. So far that part of it rates Excellent. The downgrade to "good" was because of a little disappointed in that there appears to be some corrosion on them (rust) both in the area "inside" (the front rotor is vented) and in the area between the hat and the rotor itself. For this price one would like a rotor free of rust, both when new and when in service. Its not extreme, but if your eye picks out all details you wouldn't miss it. Auto Anything should request another review when they've been in service for a year (resistance to "warping" is always of interest with rotors.)"

Posted on 12/04/2008 by Claude C. - 2003 BMW Z4 (Gilbert,AZ)

"I have had these Rotors on my car for three weeks now and I love them. They all seem to be very well balanced. I love the looks of them on my Z4 Roadster. Installation was easy, and Auto Anything as usual seems to always have the best prices. I have concluded numerous transactions with them and am a happy customer, never any problems. I would not hesitate to recommend these rotors to friends."

Well worth the upgrade

Posted on 11/21/2008 by Todd F. - 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse (Pottsville,PA)

"I slapped these slotted rotors and some improved pads on my Eclipse GT. I had already done a very small amount of work on it, and was impressed how it never felt heavy due to acceleration or handling. It would, however, feel quite heavy at times when slowing it done or bringing it to a stop. The new rotors and pads completely changed that with the braking now matching the acceleration and handling. I would also have to mention that if you're not going to be racing on a track or replacing your rotors pretty frequently you're going to want to go with this type of slotted rotor over the ones that have the circular holes between the curved slots. I've heard those rotors can develop cracks between the circular openings."
