The 2011 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb was one to remember. Some of the most talented drivers in the world were piloting cars in the unlimited class: Rhys Millen, Paul Dallenbach, Jean Philippe Dayraut, Dave Carapetyan and Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima. These vehicles are putting down some serious power... perhaps too much power, as many experienced mechanical failures.
Dallenback Racing is piloting a Banks-powered 1,307 horsepower monster in this years Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. What's under the hood is largely unknown, but we do know it's got a huge set of turbochargers strapped to the exhaust pipes. They're competing in the PPIHC Unlimited Class, which means they'll have some stiff competition, but like everyone else, they're aiming to break the 10-minute mark on a 12.42 mile course with 156 turns. The race begins at 9,390 feet and finishes at the 14,110 foot summit. I've been to this race twice and it is astonishing how fast these drivers tackle the course. But you don't have to take my word for it, we've got a video to show you just how fast Banks Power makes this thing go.
